Politician. Born Neil Gordon Kinnock in Tredegar, Wales. Entered parliament in 1970 and elected leader of the Labour Party in 1983. He resigned the leadership and retired to the backbenches after Labour lost the 1992 general election. Created Baron Kinnock of Bedwellty in 2005.
