Treena Chappell was born on 18 August 1970, the younger child of Terence Chappell and Mary Chappell née Keaveney and her birth was registered in the Westminster registration district. Her brother, Paul Chappell, was born in 1967 and his birth was registered in the Tonbridge, Kent, registration district.

She attended La Sainte Union Catholic School, Highgate Road, London, NW5

She died, aged 17 years, in the King's Cross Underground Station fire on 18 November 1987 and was buried beside her mother and close by to another victim of the fire, Michael Holden, in the St Pancras and Islington Cemetery, 278 High Road, London, N2 9AG. The subsequent fire investigation report states that she was unmarried and a bank employee. It does not state which bank, but it is believed to have been the National Westminster Bank plc.
