Michael Holden

Michael Holden was born on 1 May 1931. He died, aged 56 years, on 18 November 1987 in the King's Cross Underground Station fire after dragging out several passengers to safety including a 55 year-old who was trapped in the toilets when smoke began to creep under the door. He was subsequently identified by his daughter, Yvonne.

He was buried on 1 December 1987 in a grave close by another victim of the fire, Treena Chappell, in the St Pancras and Islington Cemetery, 278 High Road, London, N2 9AG. Administration of his estate was granted on 26 January 1988 and probate records show his address to have been 29A Freegrove Road, London, N7.

His effects did not exceed £70,000. The subsequent fire investigation report described his occupation as a Council Employee.
