The Second World War 1939 - 1945 Civilians

The WW2 civilian list identifies 14 people who worked in civil defence and what their role was. Usually lists of civilian dead give the first names and the ages of the dead so one can see how many were women and children, but here all we have are initials, which is a shame.

In our photo you may be able to see the many poppies on the railings behind the cross - all have been knitted.

Columbine's plaque is laid into the paving in front of the cross.
