Plaque

Clapham Clock Tower

Erection date: 16/7/1906

Inscription

Presented to the parish of Clapham by Alexander Glegg, Mayor of Wandsworth, 1905 1906.

Site: Clapham clock tower (1 memorial)

SW4, Clapham Common South Side

At the time this intersection was known as Clapham Cross.

Lambeth have a photo of the unveiling, where we learnt that "The tower was dismantled and rebuilt when the new booking hall was built below it." And another early photo of the tower.
