Beatrix Potter, writer and artist, 1866 to 1943, lived in a house on this site from 1866 to 1913. Erected by The Boltons Association, The Beatrix Potter Society and Frederick Warne & Co. in 1988.

The address of Potter's house was 2 Bolton Gardens.  From Londonist: She was born here and "Beatrix lived in the house until her marriage in 1913. The Potter family sold the house in 1924, and it was later destroyed in the Blitz."
