Sad London
A great site, full of photos of London which you won't find anywhere else, displaying the London underneath - an antidote to tourist websites. "All pictures were taken . . . during many miles of walkabouts around the great capital. After years of travelling via car or public transport I realised just how little I had seen of London."
Not sure we agree with all the personal, grumpy, views expressed in the journal but that's what journals are for. We are certainly pleased with Charles's efforts to document the disappearing buildings and sights of London.
"London is a city constantly re-inventing itself, but every now and then there's a window on to the past. It might be a washed-out advert painted on a wall, a plaque, an architectural quirk or elaborate man-hole cover - all worth recording before they are finally removed or hidden." This blogger likes detail - even doorbells are not too small to be noticed.
