Mural

(lost) Fitzrovia local mural

Erection date: 1980

Cynthia Williams was added in 2000.

Site: Fitzrovia local mural (1 memorial)

W1, Tottenham Street, 39, Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre

Mural actually in Goodge Place. Occupied by the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association since 1975, the building is expected, in 2012, to be sold by Camden soon, probably to a local housing trust.

2023: The ground floor is unoccupied and the mural has been partly painted over, following extensive graffiti.

January 2025: Camden to sell former Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Centre building. A photo here shows the mural totally painted out. "The Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association left the building in the summer of 2019 and its housing and welfare advice service is now run from the nearby Fitzrovia Community Centre in Foley Street."

The street number is actually on the door in Roman figures, XIV, which is very unusual.
