Sir Simon Manwaring Robertson

Simon Manwaring Robertson was born on 4 March 1941, the eldest of the three children of David Lars Manwaring Robertson CVO (1917-1999) and Pamela Lauderdale Robertson née Meares (1918-2010). His birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1941 in the Alton Registration District, Hampshire. 

His two brothers were: Jamie Manwaring Robertson (1944-2023) and Charles Manwaring Robertson (1956-2011).

Electoral registers in 1963 show him listed, with his parents, at Ketches, Church Road, Newick, Lewes, East Sussex.

He married Virginia Stewart Norman (b.1943) in the 2nd quarter of 1965 in the Bishops Stortford Registration District. Hertfordshire and electoral registers from 1965 to 1969 show him and his wife, as Virginia Manwaring Robertson, at 26 Gertrude Street, London, SW10.

They had two children: Edward Manwaring Robertson (b.1968) and Selina Manwaring Robertson (b.1969).

As the Chairman of Rolls Royce plc, he was created a Knight Bachelor for services to business in the 2010 Queen's Birthday Honours List. The Companies House website shows the business companies to which he has been associated and (in 2025) he was a trustee in the Dischma Charitable Trust
