Sir Julian Stephen Alfred Hodge

Julian Stephen Alfred Hodge was born 15 October 1904 in Camberwell, the second of the seven children of Alfred Edward Hodge (1882-1950) and Jane Emily Hodge née Simcocks (1877-1946). His birth was registered in the 4th quarter of 1904 in the Camberwell registration district, London.

His siblings were: Donald Ignatius Bernard Hodge (1903-1989); Leonard Thomas E. Hodge (1907-1999); Eileen Elizabeth Hodge (1908-2006); John George Hodge (1911-2000); Gerard T. Hodge (1913-1966) and Teresa Gwendolyn Hodge (1915-2003).

In the 1911 census he is shown as living in a six roomed property at 34 Brynavon Terrace, Hengoed, Glamorgan, Wales, with his parents, two of his siblings: Leonard & Eileen, his widower paternal grandfather Alfred Ford Hodge (1856-1935), his paternal aunt Florence Hodge (b. c1889), together with two male boarders. His father described himself as a plumber working for a gas & water company. His grandfather was shown as a gas fitter for a gas & water company.

In the 1939 England and Wales Register he is shown as a corporate accountant in the Great Western Railway and also listed as a member of Air Raid Precautions, living at 'The Firs' Bryn Road, Pontllanfraith, Monmouthshire, with his mother, his sister Teresa, his brother John and his sister-in-law Juliette Hodge née Patrouilleau (1919-2013). His sister was shown as a company secretary and his brother as an officer colonial services (education). 

On 31 December 1951 he married Moira Thomas (1924-2012) at St. Peter's R.C Church, Cardiff, Glamorgan and they had three children: Jane Elizabeth Hodge (b.1953); Robert Hodge and Julian Jonathan Hodge (b.1958)

As Chairman of Hodge Group Limited, he is shown in the London Gazette as being created a Knight Bachelor in the 1970 Queen's Birthday Honours List.

He died, aged 99 years, on 17 July 2004 in St Aubin, Jersey, Channel Islands.
