Robert Fabian

Robert Honey Fabian was born in Lewisham. He joined the police in 1921 and rose to the rank of Detective Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police. We wonder if he managed to keep his middle name secret from his colleagues.

Fabian retired from the force in 1949 and took up crime writing. His 1950  book 'Fabian of the Yard' was dramatised in the BBC drama series, 1954–56, of the same name. 'The Yard' refers to Scotland Yard.

Died Epsom.
