Mohamed Al-Fayed

Categories: Commerce

Countries: Egypt

Shop-keeper. Born Egypt. Arrived in London in the 70s and added the aristocratic "al" prefix to his name. He owned Harrods, the Paris Ritz and Fulham Football Club. The drunk chauffeur of the car in which Dodi and Diana died was employed by Fayed.

Londonist lists 11 Secrets of Harrods - we particularly like the one about Harrodsville in New Zealand.

In 2024 the evidence that Fayed was a multiple rapist and sexual abuser became overwhelming, leaving his reputation shattered.
