Mary Tudor

Categories: Royalty

Not to be confused with Queen Mary Tudor, who was named after her. This lady was younger and favoured sister to Henry VIII. Born Sheen Palace. Aged 18 she was married off to the 52 year old King of France, Louis X11 who died 3 months later sans issue. Mary then got to marry her first sweetheart, Charles Brandon. This produced 4 children, one of whom became the mother of Lady Jane Grey. Died at home Westhorpe Hall, Suffolk, aged only 37.

The picture shows Mary with Charles Brandon, c.1516.
