John William Mills, PPRBS, ARCA, FRSA

John William Mills was born on 4 March 1933 in Balham, the elder of the two children of William Samuel Mills (1902-1943) and Lily Maud Pauline Mills née Wilkinson (1909-1997). His birth was registered in the 2nd quarter of 1933 in the Battersea Registration District, London. His sister, Sheila Moya Mills (1934-2004) was born on 15 October 1934 and her birth was also registered in the Battersea Registration District.

He married Josephine Demarne (1932-2023), the marriage being registered in the 3rd quarter of 1953 in the Wandsworth Registration District and they had two children, Dylan T. Mills (b.1956) and Andrea Mills (b.1961). 

He died, aged 90 years, on 24 October 2023 at home at Hinxworth Place, Hinxworth, Baldock, SG7 5HB.

He is shown as 'John W. Mills' on the National Firefighters memorial in Sermon Lane, London, EC4.
