The parish church of St Mary and Holy Trinity, Stratford, Bow. In spite of the sign at the nearby Bow Bells public house, this is not the church with the bells that true Cockneys have to be born within earshot. That is St Mary le Bow in Cheapside; although this church has better qualifications, as it is actually in the east-end. It's tower was bombed in World War II, and later rebuilt. Our picture shows the building in the 18th century.
