Anthony White Southwell

Categories: Sculpture

Anthony White Southwell was born on 21 November 1936 in Surbiton, Surrey, the son of Arthur Joseph White Southwell (1897-1962) and Eva Winifred Southwell née Monk (1898-1963). His birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1937 in the Surrey North Eastern registration district.

Electoral registers in 1960 show him listed with his parents at 2 Homelands, Leatherhead, Surrey.

He married Christine M. B. Hall (1937-2019) on 6 January 1962 in St Mark's Church, Surbiton, Surrey and went to live in St. Marks Road, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. They had three children whose births were all registered in the Henley registration district: Alexandra W. Southwell (b.1962), Francesca W. Southwell (b.1964) and Caleb Joseph W. Southwell (b.1966).

In 1966 they moved to Aston Farmhouse, Aston, Henley and this is confirmed both in telephone directories from 1975 and electoral registers from 2003 that show both him and his wife listed at Aston Farm, Aston, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 3DE.

He died, aged 71 years, on 10 February 2008.

The British Heart Foundation Gift of Hope website gives more information about this sculptor.
