Amanda Ward

Categories: Sculpture

Sculptor. Born in London and studied at West Surrey College of Art.  Her work includes illustrations, paintings and sculptures. Shared a studio and studied sculpture with Ian Walters. 2004 married actor Michael Culver (1938-24).

From her website: "I create ceramic sculptures from a socialist viewpoint with three dimensional illustrations made on a domestic scale, highlighting the contradictions in our society. I use historic and religious references to tell stories with a circus of characters."

At source this photo is captioned: "Michael Culver (centre) and Amanda Ward (far left) visit the store of the Museum of London in 2017. Michael made many of the banners, placards, and t-shirts held by the museum as part of the Brian Haw collection. Image: Simon Roberts."
