E9, Lauriston Road, Church of St John of Jerusalem

Clearly today was not a good time to photo this church. At the centre of the cross is the monogram "I S H" which represent the Greek initial letters for "Jesus God Saviour".
Do compare and contrast the plaques. The beautiful design and confident religious wording of the early one, versus the utilitarian design and bland wording of the recent one, with the catch-all "subsequent conflicts" and the afterthought of motherhood and apple-pie sentiments. That's progress.
