Winifred Cullis (1875 - 1956) CBE Physiologist, Sophia Jex-Blake Chair of Physiology, University of London from 1926 - 1941, a pioneer of modern physiological research and in 1919 the first woman to hold a UK university chair in Physiology, as Head of Department at this medical school.
