St Saviours, Pimlico war memorial

Inscription

{On the front, north face, of the plinth:}
Pray for the souls of those who fell in the Great War, 1914 R.I.P. 1918
{This is followed by a list of 29 names which continues onto the stone on the west face of the plinth. For the names see Subjects commemorated.}

{On the east face of the plinth:}
May they rest in peace, 1939 - 1945
{List of 6 names, see Subjects commemorated.}

{The stone on the back, south face, of the plinth is free of inscriptions.}

The list of names are presented in two columns but unusually they are not listed alphabetically. Apart from the same surnames being grouped together we can see no logic to the sequence.
