Spa Green
This was the site of New Tunbridge Wells (or Islington Spa) Pleasure Gardens and Medicinal Well which flourished from about 1685 to 1840.
This plaque has large blank areas which the local artists do their best to decorate.

MCC The second Lord's Cricket Ground, 1811 - 1813, home of MCC, was located close to this site.
The wall on which the plaque is mounted marks the boundary of the old graveyard.
