Priory of the Order of St John of Jerusalem

{There is no plaque explaining the configuration of cobbles in the pavement..}

These cobbles mark out the site of the original circular church of the medieval Priory of the Order of St John of Jerusalem. The Priory once occupied a ten-acre site including this church and St John's Gate.  The church was rebuilt following WW2 bombing.
