People of London - small plaque

Inscription

This memorial, subscribed by readers of the Evening Standard, is dedicated to the People of London for their fortitude during the second world war.

Site: People of London - St Paul's (2 memorials)

EC4, St Paul's Churchyard

The small (6") brass pavement plaque is just to the north of the main memorial.

2024: English Cathedrals reported on 28 August that this memorial has been relocated. It is now "in the centre of the footprint to the medieval Chapter House of St Paul’s in the Churchyard Gardens". The photos of it in the new location show that it does not have the careful drainage arrangements with which is was originally installed.  We predict puddles!
