This plaque was originally erected on the newly-built separate Infirmary to the north of the workhouse. This 1893 map suggests to us that the Infirmary consisted of 4 blocks, of which only the east-most (the red and yellow brick building on the High Street) remains - see Lewisham Hospital for a photo.
The list of Guardian is separated into: Ex Officio Guardians (7) who are guardians by virtue of holding another office, and those who are elected guardians for either Eltham (6) or Lewisham (11).
Site: Lewisham Union and Riverside Lewisham (2 memorials)
SE13, Lewisham High Street, Riverside, University Hospital Lewisham
These two plaques are in the entrance to the Riverside building, "orange zone".
