Conrad moved here following his discharge from the German Hospital.

2021: The house is for sale so the agents have done some digging: "It once served as a boarding house where Conrad shared quarters with a printer’s compositor and a diamond merchant’s clerk, among other occupants, in 1891, according to a 2011 biography of the writer titled “The Several Lives of Joseph Conrad,” by John Stape."
