First unveiled at the RFH on 26 February 1975, by the Duke’s mother, Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, it was removed for safe keeping during building works in the mid 1980s. Some say it was then lost and only found, seriously damaged, in 2010 by the Polish Heritage Society. When it was decided to re-install it, it was sent to Poland and restored by the sculptor Robert Sobocinski. Its current location suggests to us that it is not a sculpture the RFH are particularly proud of.
