Tobias Matthay

Teacher and pianist. Born Clapham. 1903 he published "The Act of Touch" a book on piano playing technique and learning. This and other books and his Tobias Matthay Pianoforte School in Oxford Street and then in Wimpole Street made him extremely influential in the piano world. Died at his country home near Haslemere.
