Born as Clive Marles Sinclair on 30 July 1940 near Richmond-upon-Thames. He was the eldest of the three children of George William Carter Sinclair (1911-1995) and Thora Edith Ella Sinclair née Marles (b.1916). He died, aged 81 years, on 16 September 2021 in London.
