Categories: Tragedy

Rosemarie Mansi was born on 5 November 1955, a daughter of Vittorio Vincenzo Bonoventuro Mansi (1911-1963) and Mary Bridget Teresa Mansi née Upton (1919-2012).

Electoral registers from 1959 to 1963 show her parents listed at 38 Finsbury Road, London, N22.

She was on her way to secretarial college in the City of London when she was killed, aged 19 years, in the Moorgate tube disaster on 28 February 1975. Her death was registered in the 2nd quarter of 1975 in the London City Registration District and these records show her date of birth as 5 November 1955.

Her burial ceremony on 25 March 1975 was conducted by Cardinal John Carmel Heenan at St Paul's Church, Wood Green and she was buried in the grave of her father in Plot RC31, Grave 267, in St Pancras Cemetery, 278 High Road, London, N2 9AG.

Probate records confirm her address had been 230 Lymington Avenue, Wood Green, London, N22 and that when administration of her estate was granted on 14 April 1975 her effects totalled £749.

She is shown as 'MANSI, ROSEMARIE' on the Moorgate tube disaster memorial in Finsbury Square, London, EC2.
