Oliver Twist

One of the best known novels of Charles Dickens, which follows the fate of an orphaned workhouse boy. It has been filmed several times, and was turned into the stage musical (and later film) Oliver! by Lionel Bart.

Dickens' second novel it was published in serial form, 1837-9, and as a three-volume book in 1838.
