Nur Huda El-Wahabi

Categories: Tragedy

Nur Huda El-Wahabi was born on 27 June 2001 the second of the three children of Abdulaziz El-Wahabi (1964- 2017) and Faouzia El-Wahabi née Rami (b. circa 1975). Her birth was registered in July 2001 in the Westminster registration district, London.

She had two brothers, Yasin El-Wahabi who had been born on 9 August 1996 and Mehdi El-Wahabi, who was born on 22 February 2009. The family lived in Flat 182, Grenfell Tower, Grenfell Walk, London, W11 1TG.

She died, aged 15 years, together with her parents and siblings in the Grenfell Tower tragedy on 14 June 2017. At the subsequent inquiry it was said that the family lived on the 21st floor and that they had tried to escape down the stairwell but were forced back up, along with many others, by the dense smoke.

The Find a Grave website claims that she and her family are buried in the Gardens of Peace Muslim Cemetery, 57 Elmbridge Road, Ilford, IG6 3SW. The website gives much information about this schoolgirl.
