Abdulaziz El-Wahabi was born on 1 December 1964 in Larache, Morocco. He moved to the UK with his parents when he was 9 years old and in 1995, in Morocco, he married Faouzia Rami, who was also Moroccan. They moved into Flat 182, Grenfell Tower, Grenfell Walk, London, W11 1TG, as council tenants, shortly after their first child, Yasin El-Wahabi, was born on 9 August 1996. They went on to have 2 further children, a daughter, Nur Huda El-Wahabi, who was born on 27 June 2001 and a son, Mehdi El-Wahabi, who was born on 22 February 2009.

He died, aged 52 years, together with his wife and children in the Grenfell Tower tragedy on 14 June 2017. At the subsequent inquiry it was said that the family lived on the 21st floor and that they had tried to escape down the stairwell but were forced back up, along with many others, by the dense smoke.

The Find a Grave website claims that he and his family are buried in the Gardens of Peace Muslim Cemetery, 57 Elmbridge Road, Ilford, IG6 3SW. The website gives much information about this man.
