John Gill, DD

Categories: Religion

Baptist pastor. Born Northamptonshire. Pastor at Goat Yard Chapel, Horselydown and/or the Baptist meeting-house in Carter Lane. In different sources we have read that Gill was succeeded in both these by John Rippon. Goat Yard was about where Boss Street now is and Carter Lane was a small street running due south from St Olave church. Died at home in Gracechurch Street, Camberwell. Buried in Bunhill burial ground.
