United Kingdom citizen who died in the terrorist attacks in America on 11 September 2001.

She was born Jane S. Chrystal on 2 June 1948 in the hamlet of Isle of Man, Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.

On 13 May 1954 she left the port of Southampton, Hampshire, bound for New York, USA aboard the 'RMS Queen Elizabeth' steamship of the Cunard Steam-Ship Co. Ltd line. The ship's manifest shows that she was travelling tourist class with her mother, Elizabeth Chrystal, and two siblings, Joanna and Richard Chrystal. Their address was given as 16 Main Street South, Coaltown of Wemyss, Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland and their country of intended residence was Canada.

She married a man called McIntosh on 4 May 1968 and they went on to have two sons. When this marriage broke up, she worked as a cocktail waitress in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She went on to learn computer skills and left Canada, moving to Belford, New Jersey, USA where she married a retired police officer called Bob Beatty. She became a technical supervisor for Marsh & McLennan in the World Trade Centre, New York, USA.

She died, aged 53 years, on 11 September 2001 when working on 93rd floor of the North Tower, 1 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA.
