Isaac le Gooch

Dutch merchant and jeweller to the king. Benefactor of Latymer School.

Edith Streets, discussing Linden House in Upper Mall, writes: "This is used as a sailing and rowing clubhouse, owned by the London Corinthian Trust. The exact date of the construction is not known but it is recorded from 1795. It is possible that a Dutch merchant named Isaac le Gooch built it in 1685."

Reports, Volume 100, Part 2 Great Britain. Parliament. House of Lords 1819 gives the terms of his will, dated 17 August 1685, as it relates to the Latymer School.
