Hilda Bowman

Married to Ted Bowman.

April 2025; We were contacted by Teresa Waller, Ted and Hilda's eldest daughter.  We asked for some information about Hilda, and Teresa kindly replied: "My mum was born Hilda Louise Coupland on 6th August 1927 and died on 2nd May 2003 after a brief battle with cancer.  She started working in St Saviours primary school in Union Street when I was there, moving to the new school in Redcross Way, which became The Cathedral School of St Saviour and St Mary Ovarie, where she worked until she retired. She was a trustee of the Borough Market for many years." This lovely photo from the '80s shows the two daughters, Teresa and Melanie, on either side of Hilda.
