Founded by Thomas Guy in concept in 1721 but it was not until 6 January 1725 that the first sixty patients were admitted. Aim 25 have a good summary of the history. Guy's and St Thomas' are considered the two oldest teaching hospitals in London.

On the memorial she is identified as "a niece of the late Squadron Leader B. A. Grace, DFC, RAAF" and information about Bert Grace is easy to come by but we cannot ID his niece.
