Son of Major Frederick Benjamin and Maria Amelia Halford. 

A private in City of London Imperial Volunteers and Lance Corporal in the Ist Mdsx. (Victoria & St. Georges) RV. Died aged 22 at Karree on the 15th May 1900 during the South African Campaign.

City Imperial Volunteers has some interesting information about the CIV in the Boer/South Africa war and there we learnt that Halford died of enteric fever.
