The war memorial on Holy Trinity Church, Hoxton, shows his name incorrectly spelt as Fredk Heinemann.
Frederick William Heineman was the son of Louis Heineman.
On 22 October 1911 he married Elizabeth Long (1894-1944) in Holy Trinity Church, Hoxton and the marriage register shows them living at 19 De Beauvoir Crescent, Hoxton. His occupation was given as a cloth worker whilst that of his deceased father was recorded as a tailor. They had two children: Grace Elizabeth Heineman (1912-1938) and George Frederick Heineman (1915-2006).
He enlisted as a Driver in the Royal Field Artillery, service number 53771, and was attached to their 67th Small Arms Ammunition Column when he died, aged 23 years, on 23 September 1916 and was buried in Grave 458 at the Salonika (Lembet Road) Military Cemetery, 192 Langada Street, Thessaloniki, Greece.
His army effects totalling £2-11-4d were sent to his widow on 12 December 1916. She became remarried to a Stephen John Featherbe (1896-1975) on 19 May 1919 and was sent her late husband's £8-10s-0d war gratuity to her new address at 9 Beach Street, Folkestone, Kent.
He was posthumously awarded the British War Medal 1914-1918 and the Victory Medal.
