Commemorated on a memorial as having served in, and survived, WW1.

Soldier. Born Edgar Kinghorn Myles. He was deployed with the 8th (Service) Battalion, Welsh Regiment. On 9th April 1916 at Sanna-i-Yat, Mesopotamia, he went out several times alone in front of British trenches to assist wounded men on the battlefield. While under heavy rifle fire, he carried a wounded officer to safety. 

Awarded the VC for his heroism on 9 April 1916, age 21, while serving in the Welsh Regiment. "On many occasions he went out alone in front of the trenches to bring back the wounded oblivious to the dangers and at great personal risk. (Sanna-i-Yat, Mesopotamia)". Freemason at: №2832, Excelsior Lodge.
