Crawdaddy Club

Categories: Music / songs

Music venue. Founded by Giorgio Gomelsky in the back room of the former Station Hotel in Richmond. The Rolling Stones, followed by the Yardbirds were the early house bands. The club's name came from a Bo Diddley song that the Stones often performed there. It outgrew the size of the venue and moved to the Richmond Athletic Ground in 1963. It was revived at the latter venue in 2011.

This photograph From The Beatles Bible shows the Stones performing at the club. They are wearing ties!
