His birth was registered as Clive L. Duncan in the 4th quarter of 1944 in the Hammersmith registration district. In 1970 he married Janet McQueen in the Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, registration district and for many years they lived at Holme Cottage, Station Road, Shiplake, RG9 3JS.
