Originally known as the 'Royal Horticultural Society Great Spring Show', it was first held at the RHS garden in Kensington. It moved to The Royal Hospital, Chelsea in 1905 and now takes place annually for five days in May.

The memorial at the entrance to these fields tells how this playground came into existence. It is the only public space in London where adults are not allowed without children.
