Ansel Wong

A cultural and political activist, an educationist and academic. In a wide-ranging career has worked at senior levels in various organisations in the public and charitable sectors, including with the Windrush Foundation. Influential in many organisations particularly in the black community.

Ansel Keith David Wong was born in Trinidad and Tobago and came to the UK in 1965, initially studying in Hull and then in London. He founded the Elimu Mas Band and was Chair of the Notting Hill Carnival Board. Appointed CBE in 2020. Member of the Windrush Commemoration Committee.
