Alfred Samuel Allsop

Categories: Engineering, Tragedy

2nd Electrician on the RMS Titanic.

A résumé of his life can be found on the Encyclopedia-titanica website that incorrectly claims (in April 2022) that he was aged 36 years when he died. His birth was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1876 in the Chorlton registration district in Lancashire which would have made him aged 35 years at the time of his death. It correctly claims he was the 2nd Electrician aboard the RMS Titanic; however the Wordpress.com website claims (in April 2022) he was the Chief Electrical Engineer. We know this is incorrect as Peter Sloan was the Chief Electrician and according to the RMS Titanic crew records dated 6 April 1912 Allsop was engaged as the 2nd Electrician.
