Writer. Born Aldous Leonard Huxley in Godalming, Surrey, the son of Leonard Huxley. He wrote nearly fifty books, the best known of which are: 'Eyeless in Gaza', 'Antic Hay' and 'Brave New World'. In 1937, an eye disease which nearly blinded him, prompted him to move to the more favourable climate of California. He remained there for the rest of his life. Died on the day that Kennedy was assassinated.
