1980 - The Tricycle Theatre

Site: Tricycle Theatre (1 memorial)

NW6, Kilburn High Road, 77

This plaque is laid into the pavement - the people in our photo are just about to walk over it. It is about half a mile south of the Kiln (Tricycle) Theatre building which seems odd since that was the building that the theatre company moved into in 1980, not this one. We can find no evidence for a connection with this building, though it was presumably a pub at the time.

We have found a number of pavement plaques in this style in Kilburn High Road, listed at Kilburn Bridge. Like that for the theatre, the plaque for Kilburn Bridge also seems to be significantly distanced from the location commemorated.
