Sir Alexander Fleming, 1881-1955, discovered penicillin in the second storey room above this plaque.
We think it likely that Kemp-Welch, a local worthy, attended the church and made a contribution to the costs of this building.
The 'done' on the plaque is, we're pretty certain, a guerrilla sticker, as unwanted as all the graffiti.
This plaque is somewhat reticent about its function which is to commemorate the laying of the first stone at Baker Street Station.
