The Rotherhithe people were prescient or just lucky. The way they had worded the text for their WW1 memorial meant that all they had to do in incorporate WW2 was to add the dates and an 's' to 'war'.

The memorial that Wilson had just unveiled before his death is the main war memorial, not the one to Fryatt.
On site we thought there were only 2 inscriptions but IWM gives the text of 3. It seems likely that the 4th face also carried text origin...
The plaque says that 8 people were killed but has the names of only five: four women and one 7-year-old girl.
