Prisoners of War - WC1

Erection date: 14/8/2005

Inscription

Dedicated to the memory of the 68,505 British military and civilian personnel who were incarcerated and suffered, so many dying, in the Far East during the Second World War, who asked for nothing but remembrance of their lives and a promise of peace for future generations; forgotten at the end of the War but remembered by relatives and friends. Those of us left behind; and the people of Camden. This tree is dedicated to their memories by Cllr. Roger Robinson and his family. 14th August 2005.

Roger Robinson's pictures shows him at the planting ceremony, 14 August 2005. The tree is an English Oak.
